DIY App Adventure
While we have all probably used an App by now, many of us have not had the chance to create one. Using one of the following sites give App making a try. Appmakr.com or AppShed (AppShed – Get your class making their own Apps) for a quick idea and theappbuilder.com for a more feature packed app builder. Please share your created app and experience on our forum. Below you will see our own teammates experience with creating an App.

- Using Appmakr.com we were able to construct a quick RSS feed app to a UBC Course: ETEC 522 September 2012 site. It provides a quick and useful glance into what is happening inside our course, however, it is a simple RSS reader at best. ETEC522 RSS Reader App
- Using theappbuilder.com. We were able to create a sample of what our APP OER might look like inside a mobile app. APP OER App
- Another app created using the theappbuilder, this one tries to aggregate some of the TED-Ed videos and provides basic information about TED-Ed. TED-Ed App
- This app was created using appsbar.com . It is just a mobilised version of an ETEC 530 project that can be found at http://blogs.ubc.ca/focus/ to make it available on the mobile platform. appsbar.com allowed one to simply copy and paste the pages from the old site into the mobile one. This is therefore an easy way for one to wet his feet in app building without much effort.
